Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a quiet area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. People unfamiliar with the term tend to think it's an island that's in the west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to every aspect of Lachine west to the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time was not long in the city. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa, Ontario. She had a dream to dance however a rapid growth rate meant that she literally outgrew her dance partners. The article she wrote about her experience revealed that was published in the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. When I grew out of my male partners, I quit. Brugel was one of many former dancers who turned to acting. The teacher she had at high school was what pushed her to take the next step. The teacher recommended that she audition for an annual school production. The school's production was a success and she was selected to play the principal part in Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she studied Theatre and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2000. In the past 20 years, her work has been featured on both the small and big screen. The most notable was her recognition when she landed her character of Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the only Canadian cast member for Season 1 of the show and was only appeared on occasion.
